Artisans Way, located at 18 Walden St., Concord, is excited to welcome Treestump Woodcrafts for their annual Trunk Show. The event will be on Saturday, October 9 from 10-6 and Sunday, October 10 from 12-5.
Handcrafting their beautiful Southwestern style work for over 30 years, Ron and Christine Sisco are now delighted to include their son Ron in the family’s business. From their Arizona studio, they use wood and stone to create furniture, bowls, trays, sushi and bread boards, and kitchen utensils. Their work is made primarily of mesquite, a North American sustainable hardwood that is collected from naturally felled trees. This year, they will be introducing new furniture styles from their updated collection of tables, benches, and shelves.
Inspired by an ancient Chinese technique that Christine learned through her Art History class in college, they utilize the meandering cracks and knots in the wood by filling them with Kingman turquoise (known for its sky-blue col0r) or hand-gathered river rocks to produce sublime, one-of-a-kind pieces. All of their work is fully functional and meant to be used.
The Siscos will be in-store to provide a live demonstration of their signature technique and answer questions about their gorgeous pieces throughout the weekend. Additionally, all in-stock Treestump woodwork will be 15% off during the show. For additional information, check the website at www.artisansway.net/events or call (978) 369-4400.
