Nestled between Burgundy to the West and Switzerland to the East, Jura is a relatively tiny region with big personality. Even in its similarities to Burgundy, it expresses them in excess. Although Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are also grown in Jura, they assume a much different role than their counterparts to the West. Here, both take somewhat of a supporting role to the regional white, Savagnin, and reds, Poulsard and Trousseau.
Domaine Rolet encompasses 66 hectares across the appellations of Arbois, L’Etoile, Cotes du Jura, and Chateau-Chalon. Over the past 80 years, the Domaine has risen in prominence thanks to its careful acquisition of vineyard sites and attention to detail. They produce all of the major styles of wine of the region, and this lineup is a great snapshot of the category as a whole!
