Join Dr. Tami DeAngelis, physical therapist and board certified geriatric clinical specialist, from Healthy Aging Physical Therapy, to improve your strength and balance during an 8-week exercise class this spring. Using the CDC STEADI Initiative as a framework, this class is designed to improve strength and balance, and focus on fall prevention and fall preparedness. The class combines Functional Strength, Static and Dynamic, and Balance Exercises. Participants practice the reactive balance strategies critical to prevent falls. Going further than most balance classes, this class also teaches safe falling skills and floor recovery techniques. Participants should be able to stand for 45 minutes with short rests if needed. Dr. DeAngelis has worked with older adults as a physical therapist for over 20 years, and she also lives right in Concord! The COA is excited to bring this program to our community! The cost for the 8-week series is $45, checks payable to the Town of Concord. Join us on March 27th for a free trial class to see if it’s right for you. Class is limited to 12 students. Reservations are required. Please call the COA to sign up at 978-318-3020.
