On Saturday, May 3, Concord-based Ubuntu Global Connections hosts the 5th annual Walk in Their Shoes. This is a community fundraiser to benefit disadvantaged South African schoolchildren who participate in Axium Education’s innovative educational programs.

The walk takes a 5k (3-mile) route through Carlisle’s beautiful Great Brook Farm State Park. Those unable to join in person can register to walk “virtually” wherever you are.

Registration is $50, or sign up with a friend for $80. Virtual walkers are $25. Local businesses can show their support for this community effort as a business sponsor for $150-$500. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased online (see link below). All proceeds will support Axium Education, a non-profit that has been raising student achievement with quality educational programming for 14 years in rural South African villages.
