Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) affects the ring of muscle between your esophagus and your stomach and causes stomach acid to repeatedly flow back to the tube (esophagus). This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of your esophagus leading to acid reflux. If you have GERD, you may suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion.
Please join Geriatric Health Nurse, Valerie Boggia, on Tuesday, September 12th at 1:00 PM for a Listen & Learn about GERD. Valerie will discuss its causes, diagnosis,
symptoms, and treatments, and help you prepare for your medical visit. Please call the COA at 978-318-3020 to sign up to attend.
