The Laramie Project explores community reactions to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man living in Laramie, Wyoming. The Tectonic Theater Project spent a year and a half interviewing the residents of Laramie, weaving together poignant reflections to create a theatrical portrait of the lowest depths of hatred and greatest heights of compassion found in Laramie – found in all of our communities. The Laramie Project will be performed by the Young Adult Company at Concord Youth Theatre, made up of high school and college-aged students, calling on us to reject bullying and hate, in all forms.
This production contains mature themes. Show times are August 1-3 at 7:30 at Concord Youth Theatre, 53 Church Street, West Concord. For tickets and more information, visit concordyouththeatre.org.
