Archeology is a big deal in Minute Man National Historical Park! In light of the musket balls recently discovered by archeologist at the North Bridge, we are excited to announce a special event to show them off! Join us on Saturday, July 13 at the North Bridge Visitor Center for Archaeology Day in Minute Man National Historical Park. Come see the newly discovered artifacts at the North Bridge Visitor Center in Concord or listen to a lecture about the science of archaeology at Minute Man Visitor Center in Lexington!

- 10:00 am – 4:30 pm: See the musket balls on display at the North Bridge Visitor Center. Come talk to park curators about the musket balls and the science behind preserving them!
- 2:30 pm~ North Bridge Battle Walk: Join a park ranger for an interactive walking tour tracing the footsteps and the archaeology of those who fought at the North Bridge on April 19, 1775.

- 11:00 am ~ Investigating Hallowed Ground: Battlefield Archeology at Minute Man National Historical Park with Joel Dukes, NPS Northeast Region Archeology Program. Learn about the integrated archeological approach being done in Minute Man National Historical Park and other National Park Service Battlefields which provides insight, not only into the history and archeology of battles, but also a better understanding of the landscapes of Conflict, the people fighting, and the tactics utilized during engagements.
- 1:00 pm~ Arms, Ammunition, and Archaeology: A Scientific Look at April 19, 1775, with Joel Bohy, director, Historic Arms & Militaria, Blackstone Valley Auctions. Join us to explore live-fire research done after the Parker’s Revenge Archaeology Project to better understand external ballistics of 18th century firearms, as well as the arms and ammunition used by both sides of the conflict, the location of the North Bridge on April 19, and ends with the five balls found during an archaeological investigation at the North Bridge site.
