Come see Concord Youth Theatre’s upcoming summer productions. CYT will bring two one-act plays to the stage, The Big Eleven & Removing the Glove, two shows that explore issues faced by many teens and young adults.
The Big Eleven – A play written by CYT alum Stephen LaConte. To a junior in high school, getting into the right college is a matter of life or death. Welcome to the chaotic world of nine juniors who are about to make the most important decision of their lives…or so they’re told. Between crazed counselors, SATs, pressuring parents, and the infamous college tour, these students must learn to survive and succeed at a high school where competition reigns and acceptance to an Ivy League school is the ultimate goal.
Removing the Glove – Will has admitted that he is left-handed. How can he tell this to his family? His friends? Afraid of repercussions, he’s hid this sordid fact about himself for years. He eats with his right hand. His parents and his girlfriend don’t know. He can’t go on lying like this, but how can he come out of the glove compartment? Will our hero find the strength to reveal his true nature and “Remove the Glove”?
Play performances run June 28 – 30 & July 1 @ 7:30 and contain mature themes that are not recommended for young children. Concord Youth Theatre is located at 358 Baker Avenue in Concord. Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased online.
